How we calculate consumption
We convert watts to kilowatts and minutes to hours, apply the average-load percentage and then multiply by days and tariff.
W Γ· 1000 Γ (minutes Γ· 60) Γ load Γ days Γ β¬/kWh
Maximum power is not normal cooking power
A data sheet may show more than 7 kW for the whole hob, but using one zone at medium power draws much less.
Induction heats the pan
Induction reduces transfer losses compared with a radiant resistance, although cookware and cooking habits still matter.
