How we calculate mortar
We multiply area, thickness and the product consumption figure, add waste, divide by bag weight and round the purchase up.
m² × thickness × consumption × (1 + waste) ÷ kg per bag
Consumption is not universal
Tile adhesive, repair mortar and screed mortar do not use the same amount. Replace the default with the value stated for your product.
Thickness drives material use
Doubling thickness almost doubles the material. On uneven bases, measure several points and use a cautious average.
