Shade and calibre can vary between batches. Keep a few tiles for future repairs.
The calculator adds a waste allowance to the measured area, but the right margin depends on layout. Straight installation in a simple rectangular room usually wastes less than diagonal patterns, niches, columns or many edge cuts.
For bathrooms and kitchens, measure walls and floors separately. Openings can reduce area, but small cut pieces around windows, doors and fittings may still create waste, so do not assume every opening translates directly into saved material.
Tiles are bought in complete boxes, so the purchased area can exceed the theoretical requirement. Where the manufacturer uses shade, calibre or batch identifiers, order the job together and check the boxes before installation.
