How we calculate the boxes
We multiply width by length, add the waste percentage and divide the resulting area by the square metres covered by each box. The final number is always rounded up.
Width × length × (1 + waste) ÷ coverage per box
Which waste allowance to use
5–10% is a common starting point for a simple room. Increase it for diagonal layouts, many corners, patterns or defective pieces.
Keep spare material
Keeping a few boards from the same batch lets you replace damaged pieces if the product is discontinued.
