How we calculate consumption
We convert watts to kilowatts and multiply by hours, days and load factor, then apply the electricity price.
W Γ· 1000 Γ hours Γ load Γ days Γ β¬/kWh
Rated power and average consumption differ
The label is a reference, but consumption changes with picture and settings. A plug-in meter can replace the estimate with a measured value.
Compare habits using the same assumptions
When comparing two TVs, use the same hours, days and tariff so most of the difference comes from power use.
